"No DMARC Record Found": How to Create Your First DMARC Record
The short answer (what's causing it)
There is no TXT record at _dmarc.yourdomain, or it is published at the wrong name (e.g. on the root) or with a syntax error, so receivers find no policy.
Step-by-step fix
- Create a TXT record with host/name
_dmarc(your DNS host appends the domain). - Start with
p=noneand arua=mailbox you control. - Make sure
v=DMARC1comes first and tags are separated by semicolons. - Scan free to confirm it's detected.
Record examples (replace example.co.uk with your domain)
_dmarc.example.co.uk. TXT "v=DMARC1; p=none; rua=mailto:[email protected]"
Examples are illustrative templates, not values for your domain. Test changes at
p=none/ staging first.
